I really wanted to love this CC cushion, Really, really really....  but the unavoidable fact was that this CC cushion broke me out terribly TT___TT I only got to use it 3 times before I forced myself to stop :( that is why I have no choice but to give this a 2-star rating :(

I was so excited to receive this cushion in the mail because all of the amazing reviews I read about it, and it seemed like such a good product, especially because it used fermented black tea which should have been healthy. So, when I received it in the mail, I used it right away the next time I went out, which was the next day. I was amazed at how bright and even-toned my skin looked. I loved it at first! It also photographed really well. At the end of this first day when I washed my makeup off (I had it on for only a few hours), my skin looked okay, so I thought this meant that this was working well for my sensitive skin, so I was very happy.

I used it again the next day... and that's when the trouble happened :( I didn't introduce anything else new to my skin except this so I'm sure this CC cushion was the cause. By the time I washed my face in the evening, I had three huge red pimples on my face in addition to a few smaller ones, and I nearly never get pimples like these! Only if I put something on my skin that it really hates TT___TT I was horrified but stubborn me went and wore this CC cushion again the day after.... and the pimples got even worse, with new ones added :( so I forced myself to stop using it.

It makes me sad, since for the first few hours I have this CC cushion on, my skin looked amazing, really even and bright. It suited my ~NC20 shade skin very well (my skin is actually between NC15 and NC20 in MAC shade, for reference-- please see my attached picture. I circled around the spot where I applied it... matches so well!) It starts to break down and wear off at about 4 hours of wear, especially on my T-zone... but those short hours of my skin looking amazing is not worth having terrible breakouts afterwards :(

I have broken out this badly only one other time due to a foundation... my skin is sensitive but it tolerates most foundations, surprisingly. I can even wear MAC Studio Fix Fluid with no problems whatsoever, and that seems more chemical-laden than this CC cream :(( I suppose I'm allergic to something in this CC cushion, which is what made me react so badly to this. I actually suspect it's the fermented black tea. I just discovered that I am most likely allergic to black tea, as I got a rash when I drank some (really good quality) black tea :( I'll have to give this CC and its refill to my friend as I can't use it anymore.

If you don't have a black tea allergy, I would recommend this... it has excellent coverage (as good as a BB or foundation), brightens skin, and has fine packaging that is lightweight but classy. The scent is a little too strong to me (strong powdery floral scent) but if you're not sensitive to smells, it should be fine. If you enjoy cushion foundations give this a try, especially since Jolse is having the free refill promotion. I really hope it will work better for you than it did for me! ><;;
